Information Design
Final Project - Infographic Video Animation
INSTRUCTIONS
Since this project was group based, I had to find people to team up with in my class. My lecturers gave us a google sheet form for us to fill in our details in the group that we wished to join. At first, I wasn't sure which group to join as I don't really know any of them. But then I saw a group that a few slots left and the group was Group 3, so I decided to put my name under that group even though I didn't know any of them that well....I've only ever seen them around.
Week 1
Out of all the topics that we listed out, we thought that it was best to have only up to 3 options. So we decided to vote on the 3 topics that we liked best -- Women Safety, Cybersecurity, Child Safety. Then, we went to consult with Mr Shamsul. He pointed out that out of all the 3 options we have, he liked cybersecurity best. Which is what our group settled on.
Rachel then gave our first ever task to do. She mentioned that we should:
1. Do research on introduction
2. 1 problem statement per person

Week 1
During our first tutorial and practical class, one of the task given by Mr Shamsul was to sit in our group and start discussing what topic do we want to spread awareness/educate on.
I sat with my group mates and they were all welcoming, which was nice. Our group leader (Rachel), then handed over a QR code that we can scan to join the WhatsApp group chat.
After that, we started discussing on what topics do we feel like doing. Many topics were listed out, for example -- Women Safety, Deforestation, Pollution, Child Safety, etc..... I suggested talking about Cybersecurity since I feel like in a world that's now very tech-heavy, it is important to know that there are a lot of downsides and danger to it as well.

3. Case Study
We all collectively agreed on this and separately worked on our own parts. I decided to do more research on the case study and I found one case study that talked about Risk of MyKad Data Leakages (2024). I read more about it and put my research in the google docs given by Rachel along with my problem statement and introduction.

Week 2
On our second week, we worked on our presentation slides. Rachel broke down all the topics that needed to be presented and we were given the freedom to choose which key points we would like to work on.
I chose to work on target audience.
During that same week, we had an online meeting to discuss our narrative which I wasn't able to join as I had to go to the hospital.
Week 3
Week 3 was the week of our presentation and it was held online, on Monday during our lecture class. Since our time of presentation was at 10AM, an hour before that we decided to do a quick run through of how the flow of our presentation is going to be, so we all got into a call together and rehearsed for a bit. Everyone presented on the parts that they have chosen to work on earlier.
Week 4
On week 4, not much happened but they briefly discussed about our storyboard. Jie Ying, one of our members, made a sketch of the opening for our video.
Week 6
For our 6th week, Rachel distributed tasks into 4 -- Voiceover, Background music + sfx, script, and animation. And once again, we had the freedom to choose which task to do. I had chosen to do the voiceover for our video.
Task Distribution:
Voiceover - Tan Jie Ying, Nadhrah
Background music + sfx - Isabel
Script - Myra
Animation - Rachel, Ruth, Liu Ziyu & Jia Wen Bing
Voiceover Process
Since 2 people are working on the voiceover, Jie Ying suggested that we should alternate and take turns talking based on the script.
However, the script was updated and the flow of the script was quite different. So, Jie Ying let me choose which scenes I would want to work on first. I decided to go for 'Scene 2: Understanding Cyber Threats' and 'Scene 4: How to stay safe'. We both agreed on this at first. Then the next day Jie Ying asked if I could take over one more scene, which I did not mind at all so, I also voiced over for 'Scene 5: Call to Action'
For the voice recording, I just recorded on an app on my phone.
Then I compiled it all and put in google drives so that I can share it to the group.
